FUTURE FOCUSED & MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
This is the time to STEP UP and secure the future you so richly deserve! Sound simple? Not really. In fact, it can be quite daunting starting a business, especially during these tumultuous times. Why then are so many people taking the plunge (or 'risk' as some would put it)?

It's said that businesses started and sustained during recessionary times are likely to be more successful and enjoy greater longevity when times are good. Of course those businesses still require sound stewardship throughout the course but with the skills learned, techniques developed and experience honed during 'difficult times', it's fair to say that things could only get better from there.
Over the coming months, I'll be engaging with some of 2010's movers and shapers. Those young, talented individuals who are blazing a trail, shaping the landscape for others to follow. I'll find out what makes them tick, what get's them out of bed in the morning (motivation) and where they see their short, mid and long term futures developing.

Are you an Enterprising Entrepreneur? If so, drop me a line and we may feature you on the Connekt2 Show.

FINDING THE TRUE YOU!

Livingston Gilchrist
11/01/2010

YOU ARE AWESOME!
Yes... you really are!

Building more on the 'taking action' theme, I now ask you to look within yourself. What do I mean by this? Well, so often in life we just 'get on' with things, believing we're doing all that we can and therefore should let this suffice. I say NO! Why limit yourself? There's so much more that you're capable of that holding back, being 'satisfied' with your lot could prove disappointing in later life. Are you familiar with the expressions "if only" & "no regrets"? I'm sure you are.
Let's look at them briefly...
One school of thought ("if only") would suggest that we may find ourselves at a place where on reflection, we see so many possibilities or opportunities that just passed us by. We then ask ourselves, what happened? Why didn't I take that chance? I know I had the ability but...?
The other school of thought ("no regrets") is for the WINNERS of this world. Those talented individuals who saw or created opportunities, constantly upgraded their skills to match and made the most of every situation. Looking back, these people certainly had NO REGRETS!
Guess what? There's still time! Yes, you can start TODAY by making those decisions that will definitely shape your tomorrows.

OUT WITH THE 'OLD - IN WITH THE 'K'NEW!

Livingston Gilchrist
23/12/2009

INSPIRATION, EXPECTATION - ACTION!

It's that time of year again when we 'traditionally' take time out to reflect on how life REALLY IS/HAS BEEN for us. I emphasise 'really' because we sometimes kid ourselves that life is good (or at least 'all right'). Having that belief isn't a bad thing in itself because it gives us something to hope for. Making sure we're doing things to improve our lives and that of others who look to us is what really matters.
On a personal note; let me share this with you...

2009 began in an unfamiliar place. Fresh out of 'permanent employment' and not having an idea as to what to do next, I decided to take some time out. Although this was a good move for health reasons and getting some well deserved R&R, I quickly became bored. Put simply, after a few weeks, I felt lost without having a 'job' to do/go to. Needing to focus my energies, I looked 'within' (through meditation & prayer) for guidance and inspiration. What came to me STRONGLY was the need to work for myself - rather than get another job (the easy way out). I'm not going to say the transition was either quick OR easy. In fact, it took a while to decide what I was willing to pursue as a business and how this would fulfil my new expectations.

The 'early stages' were quite challenging (to say the least) but by God's grace, I persevered. Through sheer hard work, determination and the MUCH APPRECIATED help from key people, success began to unfold. The first 'big thing' was getting together with Emma to conceive and launch Connekt2. This opened up many wonderful avenues of endeavour and has produced some brilliant outcomes. Many other business ventures came into being as the year unfolded and I'm pleased to say, taking the 'enterprise' route was the right decision.
Now, as the year draws to a close, I believe we have many things to be grateful for. It also positions us perfectly to develop/capitalise on the foundations laid down throughout 2009.
I'm so excited that both Emma & I have forged ahead with individual as well as collective ventures. We both believe that you "reap what you sow". That said, this is just the beginning! The Connekt2 journey continues!

Here's wishing you all the best for Christmas and abundant success for 2010.

INNOVATE OR STAGNATE

Livingston Gilchrist
01/12/2009

PUTTING THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE!

These are truly challenging times.
For the past few months, I've been aware of the need for us to be more innovative. Whether it's to do with relationships, raising a family or making progress in business, we have to be very creative in our thinking. 'Coasting' is NOT an option! Taking ACTION is the ONLY way to make manifest what we truly desire.

Want an example? OK, I'll give you one. Let's go back to this time last year. It's December 2008. We're just entering the festive period and many of us are entertaining thoughts of Christmas. Time to wind down, quality time spent with family and friends, presents, food and drink (including the inevitable over-indulgence), goodwill to all men. The ‘feel-good’ factor is in the air. Life is great! Or is it?

Flipping the coin, we hear stories of the 'worldwide recession' and the global meltdown but as long as it doesn't directly affect us, we're OK... aren’t we? Are we really immune to what's going on out there? The reality is that some (the fortunate ones) will see through this global downturn and hold on to their jobs and businesses. Unfortunately, many won't.
Although aware of the many casualties (people & businesses) being caused by the international financial crisis, we forge ahead, believing we will remain amongst those fortunate enough to ride through the storm.

CRASH! Oh no, it’s happened! Is this for real? I’ve been made redundant!
This story has been all too true for so many people (myself included). What happened? The answer is LIFE happened! This is the real world and regrettably, we are all impacted by global events, whether directly or indirectly.

What can we do about it? We must accept that we have choices; that’s the first thing. Know that the choices we make can reduce the risk of us being ‘caught out’ by preparing ourselves for change. Easier said than done I know but what other option do we have? Ask yourself. Are you prepared to sit by and let life HAPPEN to you or will you seize the initiative and MAKE changes yourself?

Fast forward now to December 2009, has the world changed much since this time last year? For many, the answer is a resounding yes! Has it changed for the better? Again, for some the answer is a definite yes (because they took positive steps). But for others though, the answer is a regrettable no! For those who are struggling, the question remains, ‘what can we do’? What lessons are we not learning?

OPTIONS?
Let’s now look at options. We all have options, we just need to be prepared to seek them out.
RE-TRAINING:
The government is pumping a lot of money into re-training & up-skilling the population. Some people will say they won’t see this directly but I’m personally aware that the opportunities do exist. In fact, a lot of the training is FREE. If you’re having difficulty finding out where to get this training, give your local Job Centre Plus a call or contact the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP). They will put you in touch with a local Learning Provider. It’s important to know that training is available to you whether you are currently working or unemployed. I’m also linked to a number of learning professionals who have excellent training programmes that are designed to help you. Drop me a line if you need further information.
STARTING A BUSINESS:
This option isn’t for everyone. It’s fair to say that if you aren’t business minded or motivated to being self-employed, you might not find this option realistic. For those that are looking at this avenue though, it’s as good a time as any to take that leap of faith.
If (like most new start-ups) you lack the experience of running a business, then help is at hand. A number of organisations exist to assist you in this endeavour but first, you must take the initiative. Do you know what type of business you want to run? What products or services you want to bring to market? These and many more questions will come to mind when looking to start a business. Don’t feel you need do this alone though. I would strongly recommend you get some advice from business professionals. This will give you the chance to talk your ideas through and get feedback on many ‘grey areas’ that might exist. Once you are clear as to how to progress, it’s then on to the next stage.
Rather than go into too much detail here, I would suggest you contact an organisation such as Business Link or MLB Learning Solutions who are well placed to provide advice and guidance.

THE PRESENT:
What am I doing now? How have I fared since being made redundant last year? Well, I’m pleased to say that I’ve started two businesses this year and am well on the way to securing financial independence in the near future. I won’t say it’s been easy but so far, it’s been extremely rewarding.
My advice to you is GO FOR IT! Pursue whatever you see as your ideal future. Career progression with your existing or a new employer, business enterprise or just holding onto a good job, be sure to take steps NOW to ensure that positive future becomes a reality.
Best wishes for future success!
LG

INSPIRATION & ASPIRATION

Livingston Gilchrist
27/10/2009
REFLECTION!
Last week I delivered a 'motivational talk' to Barking & Dagenham Council staff. The theme of the conference was 'Inspirations from the past - Aspirations for the future'. I had spent some time over the preceding weeks researching, writing & practising my talk - aiming to have it all memorised before the day. This, I achieved quite comfortably. What SURPRISED me though was the way I felt the night before - whilst reflecting on the prepared speech. Something just wasn't right!
I decided to meditate before going to bed and (just in case), set the alarm for 4:00am - should I need to re-write the speech.
As anticipated, I woke up in a totally different place and as a result of my thoughts (& dreams), I ended up doing a TOTAL re-write. I guess what I'm illustrating here is that 'trusting' our inner voice (call it intuition if you will) often enables us to do what 'feels right' - which often turns out to be the BEST thing. Suffice to say, I felt much more comfortable delivering the talk later that day and going by the audience's response, it was certainly very well received.
My message here is quite simple; TRUST your 'sixth sense' more often. We have it for a good reason so don't ignore it!

A World Of Wealth!

Livingston Gilchrist
06/10/2009
WOW! This 'IS' a world of abundant wealth!
Is that too bold a statement?
When we refer to wealth, it's often in financial terms. There's nothing wrong with this... as long as it isn't the ONLY association we make. There's also wealth in health, family, spiritual or even relationships? If we see wealth in these areas also, imagine the returns we'd get on our investments.
Join Emma, LG and studio guests as they discuss and explore wealth abundance in all it's forms.

Ideas into Action!

Livingston Gilchrist
22/09/2009
Ideas into action'... how appropriate a topic is that!
I guess it's fair to say that we all have ideas that need to be put into action at some stage but sometimes we spend so much time 'conceptualising' that we don't place enough importance on making at least ONE OF THEM a reality. Now, I'm not saying it's easy to take a business idea from concept to a place where you are actively trading. There's a myriad of components that must be researched, developed and tested before the business can 'go live'. What are those stages? Let's explore these and more on today's Connekt2 show. In addition, we'll be looking at how the work-life balance can produce positive results if approached carefully & sensitively.
Business, personal or social... all are important aspects of a balanced life. Share your ideas & explore them LIVE ON AIR with Emma & LG.

New World - New Opportunities

Livingston Gilchrist
24/08/2009
Emma, I'm really surprised at how - when the pressure's on, time really does fly. It felt like only yesterday that we were discussing the topic from our previous show (Help... I'm overwhelmed!) when suddenly... BOOM! - a fortnight has shot by already. WOW, where did it go?
We (like many of our listeners) are constantly on the go and juggling multiple projects seems to be the 'norm' nowadays. How then can we be innovative, creative and entrepreneural?
It takes a confident person to have the 'balls' to make change happen in these 'challenging' times. We acknowledge that 'change' is constant so why not take the chance? After all, we know that 'luck favours the brave'.... don't we?
NEW WORLD - NEW OPPORTUNITIES!
Some would say this current climate (redundancy/ financial crisis/ house price slump/ business failure etc) is the most precarious where we should exercise caution and play it 'safe'. Do you agree... or do you see these as exciting times where abundant opportunities exist? Is it the right time to step out of our comfort zones by trying new ventures? I reckon it is. I mean, there's already talk of this 'recession' coming to an end within the next year so WHY WAIT?
I know both you and I have been beavering away in the background on some exciting new projects. Perhaps we could share some of our experiences whilst engaging with others who might want to contribute to the lively debate tomorrow on the Connekt2... show
I also look forward to hearing what our listeners have to say on this emotive subject as they ALWAYS have an opinion or two.
PS:... Emma, we mustn't forget to remind  our listeners & readers that you are on TV  tomorrow - Tuesday 25.08.09
BBC1 - CBBC
16:35 - 17:00 - BEAT THE BOSS
FEATURED:
Saira Khan presents the business show for children. Both teams are told to get on their bikes as they are given the business brief to design a brand new bicycle. Each team's bike must appeal to both boys and girls, with at least two special features. Will it be the Bright Sparks (kids team) or the Big Shots (Emma & co) who ride off with the Beat the Boss trophy?

You MUST watch..... it's COMPULSIVE viewing!

HELP... I'm overwhelmed (how to manage through challenging times)!

Emma Wimhurst
11/08/2009
I am truly sorry!   I can't believe how the time has flown.... And how appropriate that tonight's topic is HELP! I am overwhelmed.   I feel that my whole life is overwhelmed at the moment - and I am looking forward to a really lively debate this evening....Can you believe I actually give talks on Work/Life balance - and yet, in reality - it is the hardest thing to achieve.... Although, luckily I admit that it is not the easiest thing to achieve!   I am finding it particuarly hard to compartmentalise my life at the moment because it is the school holidays and I have two priorities - my family and my work - and of course, both are important.   I am looking forward to expanding on this further this evening.....  I have missed "connekting" with you all - and particularly LG - so here's to a great show - and please phone or text in - we want to hear your views!

Livingston Gilchrist
28/07/2009

WOW! (no pun intended with reference to our previously planned topic).
Like Emma  - a fortnight ago, I now find myself having to apologise to you for my unplanned (& most regrettable) absence from the airwaves tonight [28.07.09]. I wish I could say it was down to business taking me away to some far flung exotic location but alas, nothing so glamorous. Not one to succumb to illness, it's rare for me to be struck down with what seems like the dreaded summer flu; NOTE... I REFUSE to acknowledge that 'swine flu thingy' would even DARE enter my space (smile)! I assure you I'll be dosing up on all the conventional & 'alternative therapy' flu remedies available, so that I will be bright-eyed & bushy-tailed in time for our next broadcast.

What's happening tonight?
Emma & I have discussed whether or not she should make the 200 mile round trip to London and decided that 'Connekt2...' isn't quite the same with ONLY one of us in attendance. Our rather gallant colleagues at Playvybz will now play one of our MOST POPULAR recordings of a previous Connekt2... show. Please log on TONIGHT (8-10pm) to get a feast for the ears. There's a fabulous SURPRISE in store for you too.

Now, let me take the opportunity to fast-forward your mind to our next topic which will be covered on 11 August 09.
"HELP... I'm overwhelmed!"
How many times do we hear (or speak) those words? It might seem strange but I thought with the wonderful advancement of technology and awareness of 'work-life balance', we would (or should) be able to cope easily with what life throws at us. Errr... NO! Things, we sometimes find aren't quite what they seem. Relationship, family, household, career, business (need I go on) all require time if they are to serve us well. I for one have found things can sometimes overwhelm so the need to tap 'deep within' for solutions and strategies becomes the 'order of the day'. Emma, I know we both have hectic schedules to manage. What are your thoughts on the matter (without giving too much away before the 11th August of course)?

PS:
[Reader/ Listener reference]...

The topic 'A World Of Wealth' has been put back to a later date. Please accept our apologies for this and DO join us then. It'll be well worth waiting for because our studio guest will be a dynamic speaker of note. WATCH THIS SPACE!

A World Of Wealth!

Emma Wimhurst
21/7/2009

First I have to apologise to you all for missing our last Connekt2 show.   I am not sure if LG explained but my husband surprised me with tickets to a River Cottage Summer Party held by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall - sadly it clashed with Connekt2 - but LG gave me permission to miss our show.   He probably enjoyed being able to speak without being interrupted constantly.

So our next topic - World Of Wealth .... very interesting and I am sure will create lots of debate.    We are all probably the same and attribute WEALTH to money - but that is simply because it is easy to quantify - but I wonder how WEALTH was quantified in the days when money didn't exist - in the days of bartering over goods and services?

I feel wealthy and fulfilled - simply because of my life at the moment - I have a wonderful family who are extremely supportive and  I am healthy too.

Let us have your comments.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Livingston Gilchrist
16/07/2009

A 'WORLD OF WEALTH'! What a bold statement to make. In fact... that's EXACTLY how I see this fabulous world in which we live Emma. My thinking is quite simple. Take the word 'wealth' for example; the dictionary defines it thus: "riches, large possessions, opulence, abundance, prosperity and a profusion of great quantity or display".
To me WE ALL have access to the abundance of wealth that exists around us. Often we feel driven to pursue FINANCIAL wealth (which isn't a bad thing in itself), but it shouldn't be to the detriment or exclusion of other 'riches' within our lives. Appreciating wealth in other ways is crucial to our very existence.
Wealth manifests in many forms. Health, Family, Relationships, Spiritual... they all provide wealth in abundance. It's important that we see our lives in wealth terms because where there's a shortfall, we should endeavour to fill those gaps - thus enabling us to live more fulfilled lives. In addition to this, adopting the wealth mindset promotes continued growth in ourselves and those who we 'energise' along the way... our 'collective journey' as it were. What do you think Emma? Is this a good approach to take or are we just misguided?

SUCCESS (1) Meditation!

Livingston Gilchrist
29/06/2009
Emma... you hit it right on the button when you said 'valuable' & 'time'. I emphasise both words again because through meditation, I get immense value from the time spent 'exploring' my thoughts. I (and many others I know) find meditation very useful when seeking clarity in many aspects of life - in particular, when pursuing SUCCESS. On numerous occasions, I've been faced with situations where important decisions had to be made. Being a reflector, I sought a deeper understanding through meditation, knowing that I would have greater conviction in my final decisions. I KNOW the process I follow works... and this has been proven time & time again!
The gentleman we have as our studio guest tomorrow (30.06.09) is a prime example of success manifested through hard work & determination. Although (I'm certain) Rodney Charles wouldn't attribute his many achievements to meditation alone, I know his success  has been influenced by taking a balanced, spiritual and insightful approach to life. Rodney is an accomplished writer, actor, producer, model and film director whose wisdom greatly inspires me. I've had the privilege to gain many insights from our conversations and feel confident he'll add an 'interesting dimension' to this week's topic for discussion.
I encourage listeners of our show to check out two of Rodney's websites [www.rodneycharles.com & www.thedisciplemovie.com] before joining us LIVE on the Connect2 show: www.playvybz.com.
Emma... you (& our listeners) are in for a treat.

PASSION ROCKS!

Emma Wimhurst
17/06/2009
Well what a night - Passion most certainly rocked on Connekt2 didn't it?   I don't think that we have ever had a topic which has created so much response!   I really enjoyed last night's show - with the input on the phone lines and the texts and in the chat room - thanks to everyone!   It just shows you that when you feel passionate about something - you just have to take action!  Point made really.   So onto next time - Success:Meditation!  I am looking forward to this topic because I know absolutely nothing about it at all!   And I need to be convinced that it is a good thing and is worthy of taking up valuable time in my day!  Over to you LG.....

The Value of Personal Growth

Livingston Gilchrist
28/05/2009
Focusing on the end goal is definitely a massive motivation when 'visualising' Emma. I certainly see the benefit in doing that. Another aspect of personal growth is when one is able to recognise and tap into one's SIGNATURE STRENGTHS. So often we pursue goals and objectives, only to be disappointed when we don't achieve them. If this were to be our experience, we should ask ourselves why this has happened. Personal growth is also about SELF DISCOVERY. We shouldn't shy away from areas of discomfort because it might be percieved as 'failure'. There are lessons to be learnt in everything we do so venturing beyond our 'comfort zones' could actually reap some wonderful rewards. I have heard (& seen) many examples of where a person has gone from strength to strength... having previously seen the newly discovered/ adopted characteristics as weaknesses. Courage is an essential element of personal growth. When harnessed, we significantly increase our ability to achieve all that we desire.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emma Wimhurst
25/05/2009
Mmmm - interesting question.... Before I sort of answer it - I think it is important to understand that Personal Growth will only come about if you are aware that it is necessary..... So many people are unhappy with various situations in their lives and they know that they something needs to change - but so often they don't realise that Personal Change is actually the key factor.......    Personal Growth is the process leading to Personal Change - and in order to make positive changes it is essential to determine exactly what you are looking for and be clear on those areas which need development.

In answer to your question - Incentives etc - I always ask and question how desirable the outcome is - if it is not 10 out of 10 - then I always wonder if it will ever be achieved.   To see "change" requires dedication and focus - the instigation of change is never easy - in fact nothing in life is easy - but anything can be achieved if it is wanted enough.

By all means incentives along the journey - but focus on the end goal and what that will mean to you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

22/05/2009
Speaking of the future Emma... let me take your attention to the next TOPIC we'll be discussing on the show 'The Value of Personal Growth' - scheduled for 2 June.
During a recent conversation, a friend of mine stated boldly that the next twelve months will be a SIGNIFICANT period of CHANGE for her! I was particularly enthused by the way in which she's going about it. Not only has she clearly mapped out the steps she'll adopt to achieve success, she's also associated 'rewards' with them too. GENIUS! When I coach clients, I refer to this as 'Objectives with Incentives'. It's an excellent way to motivate and significantly increase the chance of success.
Emma, as our readers and listeners often look to, and ask us for 'insights and advice', what other TECHNIQUES would you suggest for CULTIVATING VALUE when developing PERSONAL GROWTH?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Postive Relationships

Livingston Gilchrist
21/05/2009
Emma, you had so much fun because you were in your element (smile)! The energy was so high and connekting into your 'flow' was so natural... I too had a brilliant time.
I've got to say, we're blessed with having such wonderful listeners, many of whom visited this site and left their comments (two of which featured prominently in the show). Although we created Connekt2... the way in which it's growing is very much down to the inspiration and diverse contributions we receive. This is an excellent example of 'positive relationships'. From the start, we set out to engage and 'connekt' with people from all backgrounds. Our combined personal & business experiences provide a solid foundation. In addition, the 'building blocks' are those valuable individuals (listeners/ contributors/ studio guests) who provide excellent content. The 'cement' that bind us all together is the creativity, enthusiasm, humility, wisdom, beauty and abundant energy that comes with a shared belief in what we're doing. This bodes well for the future.

Oooooh LG what can I say?   I had such fun on our show last night.    I was still on such a high after my journey home to Dorset that I couldn't get to sleep for ages - and I have to say - I don't look my best today at all!  We had such interesting discussions last night - and I do believe that we didn't agree on everything - which must be far more interesting to listen to!   Although you always had that twinkle in your eye even when trying to be controversial!  It was great to have so much involvement in the Chat Room last night and I really hope that Daniel sends in his poem for our Words of Wisdom column..... Friends are so important, indeed vital to who we are and what we achieve in our lives... In fact I am going to put up the quote I started the show with in our WOW area.... LG - thank you - loved your input, your energy and your total approach to our show last night.... PS - Next time, do I get a chair in the studio?!!!

Livingston Gilchrist
17/05/2009
Emma, you're absolutely right. I agree we should focus on positives whilst recognising the benefits of 'releasing'. I mean, if a person has already gone through difficulty in a relationship, they will know exactly what negative experiences can lead to (resentment, heartache, guilt, internalised stress... to name a few). 'Future focused' means being optimistic, stating your intention, having a desire and seeing the good in everyone. This seems to be a far better way to live one's life. I wonder if any visitors to the website agree? In fact whether they agree or not, I'd still like to read/ hear their views. LET'S SEE WHAT'S SUBMITTED ON THE OPINIONS PAGE. We've had some excellent points raised in the past and who knows, we might be fortunate enough to have some more 'pearls of wisdom' posted between now and Tuesday that we can use on this week's show.
Oh my gosh Emma... it's only a couple more days before we're back on air. Time seems to fly so rapidly! Where has the past fortnight gone? I've just spent the last week juggling responsibilities and deadlines (family, charitable causes, business), all the 'norms' you might say but I can't quite put my finger on why it seems like a blur. I'll be sure to meditate and have an early one tonight. That way I'm sure to be well rested and alert for tomorrow. Emma, you always seem to be so composed... what's your secret?

I am so glad that you feel "released"!  Sometimes actually talking about things makes everything better - which is why, I suppose, positive relationships are so powerful.  I personally always feel sad when a relationship ends - for whatever reason - however, sometimes things just turn sour - you may not even realise it.   About 7 years ago I deliberately ended a friendship with my ex sister-in-law - which saddened me and still saddens me today - however, it was something I had to do.  We were both married to brothers and both marriages broke down within about 8 weeks of each other and we both had boys born within 6 weeks of each other.   We were really good friends and initially hads lots in common.  I realised though, that we ended up talking only about our ex-partners, what they were doing, what they had done with their sons, what they hadn't done with their sons etc and I realised that I actually had moved on - I no longer needed to know such information and in fact it was unhealthy.   I felt drained by our friendship - which is why I ended it. Although sad - I felt released too and my energy was focussed on positive situations and the future. Perhaps we should talk about feeling released and how to focus on the positives and remove feelings of guilt when deciding if a relationship is right or not?

Hmmm... having to reconsider a friendship? Now that's a r-e-a-l-l-y good question Emma. Reason being that I've had to reconsider several friendships over the years (I'm sure you know what I mean). One particular occasion springs to mind when a friend I really cared for (person 'X') started spreading rumours about me. I wasn't aware of this until a mutual friend 'enlightened' me as to what was going on. I couldn't believe what I heard so without hesitating, I spoke (actually confronted) my so-called 'friend' who, after some gentle persuasion owned up to his dastardly deeds. Cut a long story short... it transpired that he secretly envied me. Unfortunately, this manifested as resentment - ultimately leading to him trying to discredit me. Suffice to say, he immediately became persona-non-grata in my books. Did I learn a lesson from that experience? You bet I did! Get to REALLY know your friends. Trust is a fragile thing but ESSENTIAL when cultivating real friendships. Appreciate those relationships that enhance you as you help to build their lives in return. Don't be afraid to 'release' those that aren't positive because they'll only drain you in the end.
GOSH.... I feel like I've just 'released' there. How wonderful.

I am glad you feel that a daily show is well within our grasp!   In the meantime however, I shall come back to earth and focus on our next show.    Postive New Relationships.....   I feel I must relate a story concerning my son, William.   He is only 10 years old but he is already having to learn about positive relationships/friendships - he has been in trouble at school this week and he has come to his own conclusion that whenever he plays with one particular boy he gets into trouble.  William is no angel and is probably an equal contributor to the deed - but when he is not with this particular boy he never gets into trouble.  I am proud that William has realised this - because let's face it - if he can grasp this at 10 - and remember it during his teenage and adult life - it may just save him from a "lot" of trouble.   Have you ever had to reconsider a friendship?

A daily show? NOW you're talking! Tell you what Emma... preparing for the show is so enjoyable and certainly makes one think about the messages & advice we need to put across. I particularly like when we explore certain aspects of the topic, a caller picks up on it and takes it to a new level. We're fortunate to have such knowledgeable listeners. Let's see what comments or opinions come through the 'Contakt Us' page.
Sooo Emma... what are you up to next?

I can't believe that we have actually completed our very first show LG.   And I truly believe that it went really really well.   Well, I enjoyed it!!!  We have had some really interesting emails from listeners - all extremely positive and supportive in relation to our new venture.  Our theme "New Beginnings" generated some interesting debate - I, personally, see new beginnings as an exciting opportunity - and although the grass is not always greener - as Rita pointed out last night - life is what is you make it.....  I can't wait for the next fortnight to fly by - How about a daily show LG????

PASSION - A POEM
Passion's not a fashion which will go out-of-date
Passion is an attitude - a very important trait
If you've got it - thats fantastic - bet your life is great?
If you haven't - just grab it - it's never...too late

POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS | A POEM
Friendships are important to stay strong, if we think we can do without it we can go terribly wrong.
It really gives you happiness and it strengthens your soul, without friends you can feel so lonely sometimes and loneliness can take control.
You are the best dear friend - I really feel happy when I think about you,
Without you in my life I don't know what to do.
You are always sweet to me and have a heart of gold, maybe I did say it many times but it has to be told.
